WE HAVE NO PERMISSION FOR PARAMOTORS OR POWERED HANG GLIDERS ON OUR SITES!!
With the exception of Draycott, Spencer's Bowl and Morgan's Ridge, all Avon Club sites are Open Sites. However, if you fly our sites regularly or live within our geographical area please do take out full membership. The club works hard with land owners to maintain access to these sites and your membership and support makes us more effective in doing so (Full Membership is currently just 25GBP per annum). All UK pilots using Avon sites should be current members of the BHPA and hold valid third party liability insurance. Visiting foreign pilots should be able to provide evidence of third party liability insurance of not less that 2 million pounds.
Full Membership is obligatory if you want to fly Draycott, Spencer's Bowl or Morgan's Ridge. There is currently no agreement for launching at Ubley.
Please note further that the Salisbury Plain Danger Area agreement, which makes flying XC from Westbury much easier, now applies to Non-Members but you must be Pilot rated and the agreement has to be activated, so read the document.
Membership enquiries should be directed to the Membership Secretary.
Alternatively you can Join Online (there is no longer a printed Membership Form).
If you wish to use information from this Guide, the Club respectfully requests that you contact us to discuss it first on the e-mail address below. We have not currently given permission for anything more than the barest of data on other Guides and are unlikely to do so. It is always best simply to link to this guide, as pilots will then be able to read the most up to date information. Disregarding this polite notice is likely to lead to a more forthright approach. :-)
