25/06/2012 - Frocester
Wind: WSW 5

High top cover kippered the expected thermals, and the wind was off to the SW although the clouds looked OK. Judicious timing on launch let me stay up for half an hour, before landing at the bottom like most others. There is a very protective buzzard in the S bowl, just to add to the difficulty in getting up. Why can't it just find us a climb, and then we could be out of there?

25/06/2012 - Haresfield
Wind: SW 5-10 stronger later.

After spending the day at Frocester watching others do the work, Ian persuaded me to try Haresfield. After watching Ian have a nice fly, and me dumping in the landing field I was ready to go- then Howard turned up and made it look easy. Getting some height I followed a bit of lift over the back and ended up bombing into a field near Brookthorpe with five foot high thistles. Hardly epic but I was glad to at least break the bonds of Haresfield, and thanks for the lift Ian.
