Wind: Very little and all over the place
Thermals came through rarely and only the lucky few caught them. I aborted the first thinking better would come. Missed the second but got the Third with Kirsty and 1 other. She disappeared into the distance and me and the other guy flew a lot together doing 40km and 30km respectively. Slow going in in a 12kph wind. Had strongest climb after pimping a sailplane's thermal, it having rocketed up. Great to start clocking up some decent Kms.
Graham19/06/2012 - Spencer's then Rifle Range
Wind: Very little and all over the place
Thermals came through rarely and only the lucky few caught them. James Lynch got the first decent one and had a nice 45km flight to Roundway. Finally at 4pm Big Dave, Mike H and I got a weak climb out from the Rifle Range but none of us got much above 3,000'. I got to Westbury, Mike to Warminster and Big Dave unfortunately didn't find a second climb... A frustrating day given the sky but a nice couple of hours flying all the same.
