Either you have been very unlucky or you are not getting out enough. The weather in Britain is so unkind that you have to take every opportunity that it gives you to fly. This is especially true for the first 30 or 40 hours. Free flying is a very antisocial sport when it comes to other commitments. There are very few pilots who have progressed far without missing out on the odd Saturday shopping trip or weekend decorating. Try organising your life such that you can go flying when the weather is good and do other stuff when it is not. If you explain this to your loved ones, they’ll understand!
